We Want Teachers! Are you a bridge teacher? Then we want you! We want you to advertise on our website for free. We will post your ad's in a special section just for teachers. Please contact the webmaster for complete details. GNT 2008 Details The playing times for this years District 2 GNT Finals are Friday March 28th, Saturday March 29 and Sunday March 30th. The round robin phase will start at 7pm on Friday March 28th. We are reserving the right to hold a second session on Saturday Morning @ 9:30am if any flight requires it. We are expecting the Flight B competition to require this special second session. But full details will be announced once all teams are registered. The rest of the round robin phase will continue at 5pm on Saturday afternoon, and will not include a dinner break. The Playoff/Knockout portion will commence Sunday March 30th at 11am. Any teams that do not qualify for the KO portion will automatically be entered in the District 2 Charity GNT Swiss Teams, which will commence at 12:30 on Sunday March 30th. This is for any user to post bridge related questions or problems. Got a bidding question? Got a play question? Then ask in the Bridge Forum and you will get an answer. NAP District 2 Finals Congratulations to all participants in the district that played in the NAP finals. Winners were from all over the district, including Flight A from London, Flight B from Winnipeg, and Flight C from Toronto. Unit 246 Open Call to join board of directors - June 30, 2007 Nick suggested a few points that should be clarified. Unit 246 is accepting nominations for its board of directors from now until our next meeting on Nov 3 at 10:30 am Any member of unit 246 that is interested in joining our board and think they help contribute to bridge community of unit 246 should submit their names to any one of the current board members and is also welcome to attend our next meeting. If there are more nominations than there are positions then it may be necessary to have elections and if so they will be held at our following meeting which is usually held at the Oshawa team Sectional in early 2008. Unit 246 Board realigns jobs - June 30, 2007 With the recent losses to the Unit 246 board, we have made some changes to the board. Nick Wong is the new treasurer Pamela Nisbet has taken over as the membership coordinator Graham Warren has taken over as the tournament coordinator David Cohen has taken over as the electronic contact to the ACBL Edna Clay resigns from Unit Board - June 30, 2007 After many years of exemplary service to unit 246, Edna Clay has resigned as the Tournament Coordinator. We wish to thank Edna for all her years of hard work and wish her all the best in her future endeavours. Peter Phemister Passes Away - June 21, 2007 It is with great sadness that I have to report that Peter Phemister passed away today in London Ontario. Peter has been the long time treasurer of Unit 246, as well as being the tournament coordinator of the Collingwood tournament. His great wit and fabulous organizational skills will sorely be missed. The funeral is scheduled for 2pm on July 6th at Grace United Church, 140 Bruce Street, in Thornbury District 2 GNT Winners - April 19 2007 Congratulations to the winners of the recent District 2 GNT finals. Several of the teams included Unit 246 members. We wish them lots of luck at the national finals in Nashville this summer.
